50 Cent's publishing company has filed a lawsuit against his ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins, and the rapper's reaction was priceless.
According to a report TMZ published on Thursday, July 17, G-Unit Books is taking Fif's first baby mama to court after she told some stories about her past relationship with the rapper-filmmaker. Tompkins is the mother of 50 Cent's 28-year-old son, Marquise Jackson. They were together during the height of his music career until they separated in the early 2000s. Fif's company claims Tompkins "irrevocably and exclusively" sold the rights of her life story in 2007, and agreed "she would not publicly disclose, exploit, or otherwise commercialize any aspect of her life story or related rights."
Since then, Tompkins has built a solid following on social media. In 2023, she posted a trailer for her upcoming series "Other Side of the Coin." Tomkins teased a conversation with Fif's old friend J.U., who was with the rapper when he was shot nine times in New York. The description of the video says Tompkins "shares the untold truth of how she helped to build the G-Unit legacy" and asserted that "Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson wouldn't be who he is today without her."
G-Unit Books cited the trailer in the legal documents as well as two other videos she posted last month. Tompkins called the pair of clips, "The Unspoken: Story Time." In the first clip, she speaks on being depicted in 50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Tryin' movie and shares other details about Fif's shooting. She also spoke about the trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs including the witnesses who testified. G-Unit argues that Tompkins tried to capitalize on the trial by inciting more speculation about the witness's identities and bringing attention to her own brand.
Fif's company is suing Tompkins for breach of contract and asking for at least $1 million. They also want a judge to issue an order that would forbid Tompkins from posting such videos to social media. Tompkins hasn't directly addressed the situation yet, but she does plan to go live on Instagram this week. Meanwhile, Fif took to Instagram to troll his ex over the lawsuit.
