Gunna will not be called on to testify against Young Thug or his YSL crew.

Judge Ural Glanville recently ordered the State to reduce their initial witness list following a motion by attorneys for co-defendant Yak Gotti, which suggested it would take three more years to get through all 700+ names. As the YSL trial enters its fourth month, over 40 witnesses have been called to the stand to testify. Some witnesses have spent several days answering questions from both sides. On Tuesday, April 9, the prosecution's updated witness list for the remainder of the trial was posted to social media.

The new list, which is comprised of 150+ names, does not include Gunna. The YSL artist was the first member of the crew to be released from jail in 2022 ahead of the trial after he entered an Alford plea. At the time, Gunna's attorney asserted his client would neither testify nor participate in the trial at any capacity. The State's new list simply confirms his stance on the matter.

Other names that were not included in the updated witness list include Lil Wayne and Young Thug's brother Unfoonk. Unfoonk, born Quantavious Grier, took a plea deal in December 2022. He pleaded guilty to one count of violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) Act and one count of theft by receiving stolen property. Grier was originally sentenced to a 12-year sentence with two years commuted to time served along and 10 years probation. However, after he was arrested on a gun charge last May, Judge Glanville sentenced him to nine years and six months in prison.

Meanwhile, previously named witnesses like YFN Lucci, Bryan "Birdman" Williams and Rich Homie Quan are still on the prosecution's list. Neither of them have indicated that they will participate.

Young Thug and five other co-defendants are accused of numerous crimes while operating as the street gang Young Slime Life. The Georgia native's legal team has denied all wrongdoing and asserts YSL is only a record label.
