Ramy Youssef Showed What Happens When You Lose At The 2020 Emmys

Ramy Youssef pulled back the curtain on the socially distant Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 20). In order to safely hand out the awards this year, the trophy presenters delivered the golden statues to the winners in tuxedo-style hazmat suits at their homes. The losers, however, had a different experience with the hazmat suit-clad presenters.

Shortly after losing the Lead Actor in a Comedy Series to Eugene Levy for his work on Schitt's Creek, the Ramy creator and star took to Instagram to share what really happens when you lose at a virtual awards show. It turns out, the presenters simply wait outside the nominee's house until the winner is announced. The presenters placed at the nominees who didn't take home the award, well, they simply wave goodbye and leave.

"when [you] lose the Emmy," Youssef captioned the hilarious video on Instagram.

In addition to Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, Ramy also received nominations for Outstanding Director for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for star Mahershala Ali.
