Prince William Revealed Kate Middleton Is Actually A Big Fan Of Reality TV

The Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge Tour Australia And New Zealand - Day 7

Even royals like reality TV shows. During a recent outing, Prince William revealed his wife, Kate Middleton, and her mother, Carole Middleton, are huge fans of one British reality show. No, the Duchess of Cambridge isn't watching Love Island or Georgie Shore (that we know of). Instead, you'll find her watching Strictly Come Dancing every week.

While attending Centrepoint's 50th Anniversary Gala in Camden on Wednesday night (November 13), the Duke of Cambridge spoke with Shirley Ballas aka the head judge on the British dancing competition. "I have watched [Strictly Come Dancing] a couple of times," William reportedly admitted to the head judge. "Catherine is a huge fan and my mother-in-law [Carole Middleton] loves it."

For those not as familiar with the British reality TV landscape, Strictly Come Dancing is quite similar to Dancing with the Stars. In fact, Dancing with the Stars is actually based on Strictly Come Dancing. The shows both pair a celebrity contestant with a professional dancer. Over the course of the show, the celeb learns how to dance and performs different choreography for the judges from week to week.

Though the Cambridges are fans of Strictly Come Dancing, William also recently revealed there's another popular TV show he's definitely not watching. While chatting with Oscar winning actress Olivia Colman, William confirmed he does not watch her Netflix drama The Crown. The historical drama, of course, is based on his family.

Colman, who is taking over the role of Queen Elizabeth II from Claire Fo yin the third and fourth seasons of The Crown, spoke about her encounter with the Duke during an appearance on the Graham Norton Show. She called the royal “very charming and very lovely" despite the fact that he isn't a fan of her show.

“He asked what I was doing at the moment before he quickly added, ‘Actually, I know what you’re doing,’” Colman explained. “I was so excited and asked, ‘Have you watched it?’ His answer was a firm, ‘No.’”

Though we all love to watch behind-the-scenes royal drama, it could be pretty awkward if the show is based on your IRL family members. Season three would likely be even more awkward for William, as it will introduce his mother, Princess Diana, for the first the time and address his parents tumultuous relationship.

Despite the fact that Prince William is "firmly" not watching The Crown, everybody else can start streaming the third season on November 17. Will you be tuning in or will you be watching Strictly Come Dancing like Kate?
