Watch 450 Guitarists Perform AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" for World Record

A few hundred Australians tried to beat a five-year-old world record for "Largest Electric Guitar Ensemble" over the weekend by performing a cacophonous rendition of AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" in unison.

The current world record is 368, which was set in India in 2013 when a few hundred guitarists performed Guns N' Roses' version of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door."

The Australians claimed to have more than 450 axemen at their assembly.

Guinness has yet to verify the results, so the Aussie's will have to wait a few weeks to see if their record sticks.

After a rough start in which the whole thing seemed about to fall apart — seriously, who starts an AC/DC song "on the count of three"? — the assembly got on beat when a drummer began playing along.

You can watch the attempt in the video above.

Meanwhile, AC/DC fans everywhere are awaiting official word from the band regarding its future.

After ending its last tour in 2016 down two long-time members — frontman Brian Johnson and bassist Cliff Williams band members have been photographed at one of their favorite recording studios Vancouver, BC.

Whether AC/DC is in Canada recording a new album or going over material for a Best Of-type release remains a mystery.
